Wilsons Fourteen Point Review

League of Nations was to be created to keep Peace throughout everyone that was involved. Today we have groups that do exactly this and take on some of the same responsibilities as the League of Nations. If there were not peace keeping groups then things would be terrible.

Self-Determination was the idea that everyone could choose under what government they would live. Today you can choose what country that you would like to live in so technically this is still in use today.

Free Navigation of all of the seas was to be put in place. This is not the case today because there are certain bodies of water that are owned by a specific place and they do not allow others to travel through their waters.

No more secret agreements was supposed to allow for non violence. Today this is not effective because you can never know what someone else is planning. This point had good intentions but I do not believe it was thought out enough.

The Point that I feel was the most important to keeping countries out of war would be the League of Nations. It was made for the exact purpose of maintaing peace between everyone who was involved. Ideally if everyone were apart of this League there would have been peace on earth.

Women During WW1

During World War 1 women were busy doing many different things. From Being part of the Army & Navy nurse corps to sowing their own seed. The Navy began to recruit women and they were finally allowed to be apart of the big picture.
It was not uncommon to see women working in munition factories, offices, and often helped to build aircraft. Women worked very hard during this time to show that they were not inferior to men. If it were not for the voluntary and involuntary work of the women during this time, the war would not have moved along so swiftly.
Although women were continually paid less, they did not mind it because they were showing what they were made of. Women were starting to gain more rights and respect during this time period and they were taking advantage of it.

Cartoon

The cartoonist is pointing out how everyone was trying to take over the world essentially. Each area has a saying that goes with its overall objective. It exaggerates what each area wanted and is meant to be comical. Personally, I think that the comic is meant to prove that all of the areas were fighting for the same thing but using a different method. It is important to see comics such as this because they sometimes tell you how things really were.

Armenian Genocide

*The Armenian Genocide was carried out by the "Young Turk" government of the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1916  One and a half million Armenians were killed, out of a total of two and a half million Armenians in the Ottoman Empire.

*Celebrated on April 24th each year because it was on this day in 1915 that 300 Armenian leaders were rounded up, deported, and killed.

*Armenians were taken from their homes forced to relocate and marched to concentration camps.

*The Armenian was extremely cruel and unusual punishment to all who were involved. Many people who were involved still have many relatives that tell their story. It is important that the end of this genocide be celebrated because these people deserved to be treated right. I believe that all of the leaders being killed in the end was exactly what they deserved.

*The way that these Armenian people were taken from their homes and forced to occupy concentration camps was very disturbing. All of the treatment that these people received was horrifying.
